Mind-Body Health
People seek therapy for a number of reasons, but it often relates generally to struggling with the many difficulties life brings; struggles that can negatively impact your mind, body, self-perception, how you spend your time, and how you relate to others. As a licensed psychologist with over 20 years' experience, I bring a collaborative, strengths-based approach to the therapy relationship to help you find a sense of joy for life, while building your coping skills and fostering self-acceptance.
I've worked with a wide range of physical and psychological conditions and strongly believe the mind and body greatly influence each other, how we feel, and how we function. I often work with individuals struggling with chronic health conditions, their caregivers, and healthcare providers. I spent several years as a university professor teaching psychology theory and practice at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and bring an empirically-based, integrative approach to my therapy work. I offer individual therapy with adults and older adolescents (15-18), including in person appointments in Bend and telehealth appointments throughout Oregon. If you are interested in discussing whether I may be a good fit for your needs, please call or click Contact to e-mail.
Spring River Psychological Services: I chose Spring River, a tributary of the Deschutes River, as my business name, because I believe its calm, clear waters that emerge out of the ground, adding fresh water to strengthen the depth and power of the Deschutes, represents what I try to offer in my therapy relationships.
